The Six Ages of Ballet

U3A is absolutely delighted to be able to offer you the next series of ballet presentations by Gretel Butler, commencing on Wednesday August 5th from 11a.m. to 2p.m. at the Zamia Theatre.

The presentations, The Six Ages of Ballet, will run over a period of 8 weeks, concluding September 23rd, starting in each case with an introductory talk and featuring a full length ballet by a major ballet company. All are new to U3A audiences. The first presentation, encompassing Classical mythology, is Sylvia, a delightful and funny story of goddesses and shepherds set to a sumptuous musical score by Delibes. The star of this production is the beautiful British ballerina, Darcy Bussell. Her shepherd is the incomparably handsome Robert Bolle.

Please contact Gretel on 55454249, or if you plan to attend. To cover hall hire there will be a minimal charge per session, rather than an up-front amount for the entire 8 weeks.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be no access to the kitchen, so do bring your own cup/mug and snack.

Social distancing will be observed with the placement of the chairs. The break will be somewhat shorter than it has been in the past. As a further nod to the virus, we will not be using the air-conditioning system, so do rug up if the days are cold.

We look forward to welcoming you back.
